Services

The services I provide as an interspecies communicator, are meant to enhance your understanding and relationship with your animal friends. Often just the conversation and understanding of everyone’s perspective on an issue begins to change the situation for the better. I am not a veterinarian, and cannot and will not, diagnose your animal’s illness or condition. However, the conversation we have with your animal friend should help you to gain insight and information to take to a professional Vet or trainer.

Sessions are by appointment only. Contact me to schedule a session. Since I have another full time career, please don’t worry if I do not respond the day of your message. I will return your call or email within 24-48 hours. I usually book sessions on week nights and Sunday mornings. Depending on your questions and how the conversation flows, ½ hour is usually 1 to 2 animals and an hour could be up to 4 animals.

Most sessions are by phone, but home visits are available in the Portland, Oregon area.

Getting Back to Nature

My partner Andrea and I have been living in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. We are both biology/science nerds with careers involving native plants and animals. We love to stroll in nature wherever we find it, and connect and learn about life all around us. When one appreciates mother earth and the living beings upon her, any walk in nature is full of wonder.

Imagine walking in nature with biology nerds who know something about communicating with other species.

  • Want to get out into nature more, but don’t know how to take that first step or where to go?
  • Want to learn more about the different environments that the PNW offers (rain forests, deserts, mountains, rivers and streams, etc.)?
  • Stressed by the pace of our human lives and need to relax and breathe in nature?

Walks

  • We take individuals or small groups of quiet observers into nature, on trails you know or ones we know.
  • Our current area of services is within a 2-3 hour drive of Portland (allows for getting to mountains and beaches and the in between). But of course Portland has many areas within the city limits (some even wheelchair accessible) that are available for walks in nature.
  • Most walks, we call them strolls, will be less than 3 hours and do not cover much ground. Why? Cause it takes time to stop and appreciate nature and to experience the happy unexpected.
  • If outside the Portland (2-3 hour drive) area, contact us anyway, we may be traveling and can stop for a stroll in your area.

Testimonials

I have had the pleasure of traveling with Denise and Andrea in the Bahamas where I take groups to swim with dolphins in the wild. They offered such fun to our group with their enthusiasm when we snorkeled the reefs. They identified not only much of the sea life for us but also provided information on the lifestyle of the various species we were enjoying through our masks in the turquoise waters. It enhanced our reef viewing quite a bit.

I was then fortunate to have Denise and Andrea join a group that I took to Costa Rica. Their wisdom about the many unique rainforest critters, who we met along the way each day, offered a much richer experience for everyone on the trip. It’s truly a delight to explore nature together with them!
