Number 4:  Got unwanted food? Chickens will compost!
Everyday Denise prepares a variety of fresh fruit, veggies, and greens for her chickens.  But only about half of the food she chops up is purchased for the hens, the other half is food that would normally have gone in the garbage or to the outdoor plastic composter.

“We still do send food to the plastic composter if it is too rotten for the chickens or if we know the chickens do not like it,” Andrea explained. And then added “But it is great when unwanted table scraps can be fed to the chickens and turned back into an egg that you do want to eat.”
