Number 7:  Chickens make great companions.
Chickens like the company of humans.  They come running to see what you are up to when you come out of the house, and will follow you around as you do your outdoor chores.  Their constant cooing and murmuring is very soothing to the human soul. And if they even think you might provide them with a meal, they are not shy about turning on the charm and begging.
